"War of the Worlds" David Sarnoff Library Fund Raiser

Saturday, September 30, 2003
Starting 6 PM.

PRINCETON: Wiggle your tentacles! It's time to mark your calendars and save Saturday night, November 1, when the David Sarnoff Library will host a re-enactment of Orson Welles's 65-year-old Halloween broadcast scare, "War of The Worlds," based on H. G. Wells's classic story. Your family can enjoy a staged theatrical presentation of this historic broadcast and participate in a Martian costume contest, starting at 6 p.m. at the David Sarnoff Library, 201 Washington Road, Princeton, New Jersey.

The David Sarnoff Library, a non-profit organization dedicated to the understanding and promotion of electronic innovation, has planned this fundraiser to introduce New Jersey families to the historic resources within the Library. Developed in association with the Institute for Arts and Humanities Education and the New Jersey Antique Radio Club, the performance promises entertainment and food for thought over the relationships between technology, the arts, and society. Seating is limited and advance reservations are suggested. For reservations call 732-422-7438 or contact JerARTS2@aol.com. While reserved tickets for adults are $15.00 and children under 12 $10.00, tickets will be $20.00 for adults and $15.00 for children at the door the night of the event.

This performance of the radio play "War of the Worlds" by Howard Koch is given by permission of Anne Koch. The program is made possible, in part, by funding from the New Jersey Historical Commission and State Arts Council, Department of State.
