Under current U.S. Federal law all images produced after 1923 may still enjoy some form of copyright protection. The majority of images on this website come from the files of RCA Corporation, which was bought by General Electric Company in 1986, and which owns any RCA copyright that may still exist. However, because it is not clear under what terms RCA commissioned various photographs, writings, or artwork and because it is not clear whether RCA renewed copyright on these materials, General Electric Company does not know whether it retains copyright on any of the RCA material now held by the DSC.
